5 Senses is the fresh herb brand of Europe Retail Packing B.V., a grower and packer of fresh-cut herbs in Poeldijk, in the heart of the Dutch Westland.
25 years of ERP
From a small cart to 50 tonnes a month
Remember that? For our 25-year anniversary, we are sharing the stories behind ERP and the people who helped build them.
When Raymond joined 18 years ago, nobody expected a little cart with 50 kg of herbs would grow into a trade of 50 tonnes a month. A colleague even joked about it.
The early years were intense, with containers from Israel, sleepless nights and uncertainty. But the business grew, and so did the partnerships, from local herbs to long-term international relationships.
Remember when it still felt like real pioneering? Building the herbs focus step by step, and discovering that choosing one direction, herbs, was the right call. We love to bring back old memories!

Who we are
Europe Retail Packing has been supplying fresh-cut herbs to retail, wholesale and foodservice for many years. What started as importing and packing has grown into a company that controls the whole chain: from cultivation to packing and delivery.
Under our own brand, 5 Senses, we bring one promise to every pack: the same high quality, all year round, wherever the herbs were grown.
The name
Why 5 Senses?
Fresh herbs are about more than taste. You see the colour, smell the aroma, feel the leaves and hear the snap of fresh stems. Our name is a reminder of what fresh herbs should do: bring every dish to life, in every sense.

Raymond
Purchase, sales & quality
Raymond is the man behind 5 Senses Fresh Herbs, with 18 years of experience in the fresh herb industry. Every day, pallets of herbs from around the world, including our own farm in the Netherlands, arrive at our warehouse in Poeldijk, where they are picked or repacked for our customers.
Raymond is responsible for buying, selling and the quality of our herbs. Questions about herbs? Just give Raymond a call.

Joëlla works in the herbs department of Europe Retail Packing. She started with the lovely fresh herbal tea bags of Plukkruidje, and today she is responsible for innovation, marketing and sales.

Israel account manager & sales representative
Did you know we have a colleague who lives in Israel? Omer is our sales representative and your connection between the Israeli growers and our customers in Europe. He also speaks up in the press about how important a reliable air cargo connection is for Israeli exports.

Our origins
One standard, four origins
Fresh herbs are delicate and every season brings different growing conditions. That is why we combine our own Dutch cultivation with selected, certified growers abroad.
The Netherlands
Our own greenhouses, where we grow herbs such as basil, chervil, coriander and lovage under glass.
Kenya
Partner growers with a favourable climate that allows a steady supply all year round.

Certified growers that supply over land, especially in the cooler months.
