About red basil
Red basil, also called purple basil, brings the familiar basil aroma with a slightly spicier, clove-like note. Its dark leaves make every plate stand out.
From harvest to pack
How we handle it
Like all basil, red basil is sensitive to cold. We keep it at the right temperature and pack it gently, so the leaves keep their deep colour.
Depending on the season, our red basil comes from our own Dutch cultivation or from selected, certified partner growers abroad. Whatever the origin, every batch is checked against the same 5 Senses quality standard and is fully traceable.
- Kept at the right temperature, never too cold
- Checked against one quality standard
- Packed in the Westland
- Fully traceable from grower to shelf
- Available in kg box, flowpack or clamshell
